Officially Engineer

I haven’t posted anything for a few days because I was trying to take the final step in the long journey I decided to start back in 1999: studying Information Systems Engineering. Luckily, I was able to accomplish it.

As if that wasn’t enough, I had the luck of finishing the degree simultaneously with three of my great friends (Beto, Checho, and Marcos Leopold), which added an extra touch of joy.

To obtain the precious piece of paper (and not the toilet kind), some of the things I had to do over nearly 9 years were:

  • Pass 43 subjects
  • Take 61 final exams and 128 midterms
  • Read thousands of notes, summaries, books, and web pages
  • 5 course retakes
  • Miss 9 vacations, locked in a 2x2 room with a fan that only blew hot air, reading the most boring and longest subjects
  • Drink 6570 mate thermoses
  • Eat 1545 bags of biscuits/cookies/bread
  • Answer 1219 questions like “How much longer until you graduate? Wow, so long!”
  • Participate in many role-playing games, foosball, ping pong, etc. (not everything was study)

Thanks to everyone who sent good vibes all the time, and especially to my family, who supported me so I could achieve this.

I hope I survive tonight to start practicing the profession...
